The Delcat 1350's
hulls are constructed with balsa core planks (Durakore) and epoxy resin
with knitted glass reinforcement using the strip plank method over male
frames. This produces very light but strong hulls. All
the flat panels such as the bulkheads and deck areas were constructed with
Duflex panels. DuFLEX consists of a lightweight core material
sandwiched between two high performance epoxy reinforced laminates.
Internal fit-out is done with Duflex Honeycomb panels. The emphasis
with this cat is to keep it light so that it has a higher payload and
better performance. All these materials are produced by ATL
Composites in Queensland.
